About Lusa Social Entrepreneurship Institute

Lusa Social Entrepreneurship Institute (SEI) is a Level 2 BBBEE contributor, SETA accredited, Comensa recognised training provider with more than 30 years experience in promoting practical learning for social impact through business partnerships in the CSI (Corporate Social Investment) space.

We also create tailor-made social entrepreneurship based programmes and bespoke strategies that transform communities into sustainable and resilient systems through training, coaching, mentoring and capacity building.

We are a training partner of choice focused on the development of leaders, businesses, and communities either in-person or through an online blended learning platform, registered with SACE and SACSSP, offering CPD points for our registered programmes.

All our social impact programmes include practical training and hands-on experience to ensure our theory is imparted in an experiential learning format, preparing our learners for real world scenarios, and providing a holistic approach to social entrepreneurship.

Lusa Social Entrepreneurship Institute was birthed out of Lusa Community Chest, a non-profit and public benefit organisation that leads, supports and participates in inclusive community efforts that build capacity and mobilise resources to improve lives and create long-term social change.

Lusa Social Entrepreneurship Institute is a vital part of the Community Chest legacy as the spirit of both entities is to transform lives and empower people to achieve their greatness, personally and professionally, creating a positive impact on our communities for the Greater Good.

Our Values

Raising leaders, mediators, and coaches who will inspire, empower, and positively impact the world around them is at the heart of what we do, with a focus on fostering social entrepreneurship as a key driver of change.

Our Holistic Learning Experience

Our unique learning experience is comprised of a range of short learning programmes, as well as a national qualification in community development and social entrepreneurship. This is offered as interactive, blended learning that combines live online sessions with self-study via our learning platform, or face-to-face interaction combined with self-study and practical application within the community.

Training groups are kept small to ensure maximum interaction of all learners and emphasis is placed on integration of the learning by everyone. The incorporation of social entrepreneurship into our programmes allows learners to develop innovative solutions to community challenges, fostering sustainable growth and empowerment.

Our in-person training is usually facilitated at a venue most convenient to most participants within the group. Our online training is facilitated via Zoom video communication for durations of time that fall within best practice, to ensure interactive and collaborative sessions.

Empowering Communities Through Social Entrepreneurship Programmes

Lusa Social Entrepreneurship Institute provides practical learning and development programmes to individuals and organisations.

The Social Entrepreneurship Institute endeavours to provide much needed support to the growing social sector in South Africa.

Our social impact programs offer participants opportunities to have direct contact training and skills development at our training centre coupled with hands-on experience at non profit organisations, thereby providing a holistic approach to social entrepreneurship. Our mission is to help improve lives by upskilling and empowering individuals with skills to change their lives and the lives of those surrounding them.
